abstract:If last night's event is any indication, book groups everywhere can look forward to fun-filled times when they join the wineandbook group sponsored by and Pauline Holdstock, shortlisted Giller Prize nominated author of Beyond Measure (Cormorant. Canada) A Rare and Curious Gift (Norton, USA) was special guest at an Italian Renaissance themed event in Whistler. BC.

November 11, 2005
Sharon Boorstin, Editorial Director of and Paula Shackleton, Founder and Executive Editor of co-hosted an evening of Women, Wine and Books with wines selected by W&W's sommeliers and vintners to match Pauline's Italian Renaissance themed book. Wines were supplied by Mark Anthony Group, Canada's largest spirit supplier.

Attendees were served by male body-painted 'Ufizzi statues' that were a big hit with appreciative ladies.

Lesley Stowe donated delicious Tuscan toppings to accompany her signature Raincoast Crisps, and gave out clever marketing folders with delicious recipes.

Pauline Holdstock read two selections from her novel and an Early Music ensemble performed Renaissance music in period costumes on antique instruments: virginals, viola de gamba, recorder and more.
