Rachel Jacobsohn: Leading Book Group Facilitator Comes to Los Angeles

abstract:BookBuffet, UCLA, and the Santa Monica Public Library are co-sponsoring the mother of all moderators—Rachel Jacobsohn, who joins us from Chicago—to give two courses directed toward the professional book group facilitator and the interested book group leader. Scheduled April 22nd & 23rd in Los Angeles, CA.

Rachel Jacobsohn, is a thirty-year veteran of leading book discussion groups. Founder and president of ABGRL, the Association of Book Group Readers and Leaders, she is the author of what has become the bible of book discussion groups:

The Reading Group Handbook: Everything You Need To Know from Choosing Members to Leading Discussions
(Hyperion, 1998) 

Rachel previously moderated 30 monthly book groups, but now devotes her time almost exclusively to training book group leaders.  Her list of speaking engagements and groups is impressive. She has agreed to give two courses: one directed at the interested book group leader and the other directed at the professional book group facilitator.
