Books to Film: November 2002

abstract:Catch Autofocus, based on the book about the murder of TV star Bob Crane.

November 04, 2002
— Starring Greg Kinnear and Willem Dafoe, Autofocus is an unusual film.  If you want to delve deeper, then read Rober Graysmith's The Murder of Bob Crane.

The Weight of Water starring Elizabeth Hurley and Sean Penn, is based on the acclaimed book by Anita Shreve.  It's a thriller with an interesting historical twist, so read the book and see the film.

White Oleander was a popular book group selection and members have been waiting to see the movie version.  Although it has had mixed reviews, it could be an interesting outing for you group—particularly if you read and discussed the novel.  Michel Pfeiffer, Renee Zellweger, and Robin Wright Penn star in this moving movie about mothers and daughters and the harowing experience of the main character's experience with the government system of foster home care.
