Leave it to the British to launch a competition to find aspiring stars—of literature!
July 09, 2003 — The British must be watching too much American TV. In what's being called a literary version of American Idol, the BBC is launching a competition in 12 U.K. cities in search of hidden writing talent. The program, called "Get Creative," challenges aspiring writers over the age of 16 who have never been published or had work broadcast to create new versions of Chaucer's Canterbury Tales.
